I took Giacomo for bike trekking. Yes, you got it right: the one with the bicycles, the one where you struggle.
For those who don’t know Giacomo, you must know that he’s not what you would call a sportsman, he is more a sofa and Netflix type of guy, but when Brickscape invited us to try this experience, I could not say no.
In short, Brickscape is the first search engine for experiential tourism. It gathers, selects and proposes travel experiences to give the opportunity, to those who travel, to live the everyday life of a place as a real insider and explore a territory through unique activities, customs, traditions and typicality. Look at their offers at this link to find even something more adventurous than what we’ve done and within everyone’s reach!
We have recently started a collaboration with them. They’re young, they’re smart and I thought “why not? let’s do it!”
I must confess that I underestimated Giacomo, you should have seen him: he was flashing like a rocket on the hairpin bends, always with his camera ready and between jokes and laughter he almost tirelessly arrived at his destination.
But there’s something else you don’t know yet, we got a little help. Without the e-bikes, in fact, probably we would have not reached the top of Mount Bernadia and we would have missed a great day.
We started off a little tense, but Christine, our guide, immediately put us back in a good mood. At that point we couldn’t do anything else but a challenge to get to the top without finishing the battery!
To tell the truth, for me, it wasn’t immediately love with the electrics, but after the second hairpin bend I had to reassess it and I confess that my heart started beating fast for the e-bike! Thanks Brickscape!
Perfect day in June with 30 degrees, breeze and a clear blue sky that made us enjoy even more, while we were riding, the view on our region: Friuli Venezia Giulia. Starting from Tarcento (Udine) we climbed the ring of Mount Bernadia and as we arrived at the top the view of our beloved land left us speechless. To the north the Julian Prealps, imposing limestone ramparts that framed the horizon, to the south the high plain of Friuli, to the east the eastern hills and to the west the place we call home: the river Tagliamento. Emotion took over and now the heart was not only beating for the e-bike 😉
Enchanted by the view but still full of adrenaline, we rushed from the top of the mount to the long descent which led us to the Crosis falls. A prize not bad at all for the day: a nice swim in these sparkling and crystal clear waters was just what we needed to regenerate ourselves! The descent was a bit difficult, but it was definitely worth it.
Dead tired, but definitely happy as we embarked in this experience challenging ourselves and our (I say ours because I boast a lot, but Giacomo is not the only unsportsmanlike of the two) willpower.
So we come out satisfied and we recommend this tour of Brickscape to anyone who wants to take a ride with an extra help that, let’s face it, in the end doesn’t make you look bad, on the contrary, it allows everyone to enjoy a day full of fun and beautiful views.
